Artwork description:
Stanislaw Wysocki became famous primarily as the author of intimate sculptures maintained in a geometric, simplified form. His recognizable style, valued both in Poland and abroad - including Germany, Belgium, France England and the Scandinavian countries - was shaped during his studies at Berlin's Hochschule der Künste and his apprenticeship at the renowned Hermann Noack Bildgiesserei foundry. It was there that Stanislaw Wysocki realized his projects alongside renowned artists such as Henry Moore and Kenneth Armitage.
A short stay in 1990 in Henry Moore's studio near London allowed Stanislaw Wysocki to come into direct contact with the master's work. This experience had a significant impact on his art, as exemplified by the presented cast bronze sculpture titled. "Woman," showing one of the key motifs in his oeuvre - a female figure depicted on the verge of abstraction. The artist consciously brought out the qualities of the material used, combining diverse textures - from irregular, patinated surfaces to smooth, shiny fragments. This particular approach to the material makes the work delightful both in its form and refined detail.
